  I use this item for my dog. I keep dry food outside for him to eat ad-lib. I used to have a lot of the dog food stolen by pigeons so decided to get this auto-opening feeder. It was easy to train my dog to stand on the pedal for food and has saved me a lot of money on food not being eaten by birds.

  My chooks havent worked out how to use it yet plenty of time. The feeder is made extremely well
